The renewal email from Freshworks lands the same week you approve two new hires. Your team wants Freddy AI to keep answering email, but the 500 free AI sessions ran out in the first month. Now you need one all-in number for next year's Freshdesk bill.
A G2 reviewer at a small business wrote in October 2026 that many newer Freddy features depend on session packs or higher-tier add-ons. The reviewer added that "costs can ramp up quickly once you start using these capabilities in earnest."
On Freshdesk Pro with Copilot, your two hires add $202 a month ($168 billed yearly). On Helply, the same two hires leave the credit block unchanged.
Freshdesk Pricing Plans for 2026
Freshworks sells two help desks on the same three plans: Growth, Pro and Enterprise. Freshdesk handles email-first support, and Freshdesk Omni adds chat and messaging channels alongside email in one inbox. Freshworks prices both per agent, per month, and Omni costs more on every plan.
Freshdesk vs. Freshdesk Omni Prices: Monthly and Annual Billing
| Plan | Freshdesk, per agent a month, billed monthly | Freshdesk, per agent a month, billed yearly | Freshdesk Omni, per agent a month, billed monthly | Freshdesk Omni, per agent a month, billed yearly |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Growth | $23 | $19 | $35 | $29 |
| Pro | $66 | $55 | $95 | $79 |
| Enterprise | $107 | $89 | $143 | $119 |
Prices exclude tax. Besides monthly and annual terms, Freshworks bills quarterly or half-yearly. Adding an agent mid-cycle costs a pro-rata share of that license for the days left.
Freshworks labels annual billing "Save 20%", but the plan price drops about 17%. On Growth, it goes from $23 to $19 per agent a month.
Freshdesk Growth vs. Pro vs. Enterprise: Features and Upgrade Costs
Moving five Freshdesk agents from Growth to Pro adds $215 a month ($180 billed yearly). Moving them from Pro to Enterprise adds another $205 ($170 billed yearly).
- Growth. Ticketing and a shared inbox, a customer portal and knowledge base, out-of-the-box analytics and reporting, threads and tasks, and roles and permissions. Freddy AI Agent comes with the one-time 500 sessions, and Freshworks doesn't sell Copilot on Growth.
- Pro. A multilingual help desk, custom dashboards, round-robin and load-balanced assignment, multiple SLA policies and 5,000 external collaborators. From Pro up, you can add Copilot.
- Enterprise. Freddy AI Insights, skill-based routing, a sandbox, audit logs, allowed domains and IP whitelisting.
Freshdesk Omni gates the same features by plan, so Omni Growth also lacks Copilot and multiple SLA policies.
Freshdesk or Freshdesk Omni: Which Product Fits Your Channels?
Freshdesk fits teams that handle most of their support by email. Omni brings email, chat and social media into one inbox. Freshdesk Omni pricing runs $12, $29 or $36 higher monthly per agent on Growth, Pro or Enterprise ($10, $24 or $30 billed yearly).
The Email AI Agent runs on both products, and the Chat AI Agent runs only on Omni.
On Omni, phone support takes a voice add-on plus call charges. The add-on costs $18, $47 or $83 per agent a month on Growth, Pro or Enterprise ($15, $39 or $69 billed yearly).
The Free Program covers Freshdesk only. A team that needs chat from day one starts at Omni prices.
Freddy AI Pricing: Copilot, AI Agent Sessions and Insights
Freshworks bills Copilot per agent, at $35 a month ($29 billed yearly), and Freddy AI Agent per session, at $49 per 100. Freddy AI Insights comes with Enterprise, or with any Copilot license.
Freddy AI Copilot: $35 per Agent a Month
Freddy AI Copilot works beside your human agents. It drafts and refines replies, summarizes tickets, translates live, gauges customer sentiment and suggests similar tickets and solution articles.
Copilot costs $35 a month per licensed agent ($29 billed yearly), on Pro and Enterprise only. You can license some agents and skip others, and day passes don't cover Copilot. One Copilot license also turns on Freddy AI Insights for the whole account.
Freddy AI Agent: $49 per 100 Sessions
Freddy AI Agent answers customers without a human, by email on both products and by chat on Omni. A new account gets 500 sessions once, with a paid Growth, Pro or Enterprise plan. After that, each pack of 100 sessions costs $49, or $0.49 a session, on either billing term.
Freshdesk counts sessions by time window. One email session lasts 72 hours from the customer's first email, however many replies the AI sends. A chat session covers 24 hours from the start of the conversation.
A chat session comes off your balance at the AI Agent's first reply, or at its welcome message if it sends one. Handing the chat to a person afterward still uses the session.
Packs expire with the billing cycle you bought them in, so on monthly billing, unused sessions lapse each month. If you pay online, auto-recharge can add a pack when fewer than 50 sessions remain.
At zero sessions, the AI Agent stops taking new conversations and your human agents get them. Conversations already in progress finish. In a self-service widget, the AI Agent stops with no handover to a live agent.

What a Freddy AI Session Costs per Resolved Conversation
Because Freshworks meters by time window, divide $0.49 by your resolution rate to get the cost of each resolved conversation. At example resolution rates of 30%, 50% and 70%, each resolved conversation costs $1.63, $0.98 or $0.70.
Who Needs a Paid Freshdesk License? Agents, Collaborators and Day Passes
Freshdesk charges for each full-time agent. Occasional helpers can join as collaborators on Pro and Enterprise or log in on day passes, each with limits.
- Full-time agents. Each one needs a license on your plan, and a Copilot license if they draft with AI.
- Collaborators. Pro and Enterprise include 5,000 collaborators, who can view tickets, add private notes and tag agents. They can't reply to customers, and by default they can't edit ticket properties.
- Day passes. An occasional agent uses a pass for one day of access instead of a full license. A pass costs $2, $7 or $12 on Growth, Pro or Enterprise, and $5, $10 or $15 on Omni.
- Free passes. Freshdesk's help center, in an article last updated in February 2025, says every plan includes three free day passes. A pass counts only when the occasional agent logs in to the portal, and replies sent by email use none.
On Pro or Enterprise, a product manager who reads tickets fits the collaborator role. An engineer who works tickets in the portal needs a full license, or a day pass for each day they log in.

Freshdesk Free Plan: The Free Program and 14-Day Trial
Freshdesk has no permanent free plan. Every new account starts with a 14-day trial of the Enterprise plan. Afterward, you can pay for a Freshdesk plan or join the Free Program, which covers up to two agents for six months.
The Free Program includes email and social ticketing, ticket dispatch, a knowledge base, a ticket trend report, and prebuilt reports and dashboards.
Freshdesk Omni has no Free Program, and the 500 free AI sessions come only with a paid plan. You need a paid plan once you add a third agent or pass six months. After you upgrade, you can't return to the Free Program.
Other Freshdesk Add-Ons: Connector Tasks and MCP Actions
Connector app tasks and MCP actions sit outside the plan price, at the same usage rate on monthly and annual billing.
- Connector app tasks. Freshworks charges $80 per 5,000 tasks. You consume tasks whenever you use one of its connector apps.
- MCP actions. Growth includes 1,200 actions a year, Pro 6,000 and Enterprise 12,000, and extra actions cost $15 per 1,000. MCP became generally available in Freshdesk on 10 September 2026.
Freshworks loads each billing cycle's allowance up front, at 100, 500 or 1,000 actions a month on Growth, Pro or Enterprise. Past it, MCP keeps running to 110% at the overage rate, then pauses. Only successful calls count.
What Freshdesk Costs a Team Each Month
Licenses and Copilot for five Freshdesk Pro agents run $505 a month ($420 billed yearly) before any AI sessions. Each budget uses list prices and one Freddy AI Agent session per AI conversation, after the one-time 500 run out. AI drafting through Copilot needs Pro or Enterprise, so the Copilot budgets use Pro and Omni Pro.
Freshdesk Monthly Cost by Team: Seats, Copilot and AI Sessions
| Team | Freshdesk setup | Billed monthly | Billed yearly, per month |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 agents, email | Growth, no paid AI | $69 | $57 |
| 5 agents, email, AI on 1,000 conversations | Growth, 10 session packs, no Copilot | $605 | $585 |
| 5 agents, email | Pro, Copilot for all 5 | $505 | $420 |
| 5 agents, email, AI on 1,000 conversations | Pro, Copilot for all 5, 10 session packs | $995 | $910 |
| 12 agents, email and chat, AI on 2,000 conversations | Omni Pro, Copilot for all 12, 20 session packs | $2,540 | $2,276 |
Session packs cost the same on both billing terms, so annual billing trims only the license and Copilot lines.
What Does a Five-Agent Team Pay for Freshdesk With Freddy AI?
A five-agent Freshdesk Pro team pays $995 a month ($910 billed yearly) with five Copilot licenses and AI on 1,000 email conversations. That total assumes one Freddy AI Agent session per conversation. Five Pro licenses cost $330 ($275 billed yearly), and Copilot adds $175 ($145 billed yearly).
The 1,000 AI conversations take 10 session packs, or $490 on either billing term.
On a new account, you pay $750 in month one ($665 billed yearly), because the one-time 500 sessions cover half of that volume.

What New Hires or 1,000 More AI Conversations Add to a Freshdesk Bill
- Your two new hires. Seven Pro agents with Copilot and AI on 1,000 conversations cost $1,197 a month ($1,078 billed yearly). The two hires add $202 a month ($168 billed yearly).
- One more Pro agent with Copilot. $101 a month ($84 billed yearly).
- One more Growth agent. $23 a month ($19 billed yearly).
- One more Omni Pro agent with Copilot. $130 a month ($108 billed yearly).
- 1,000 more AI conversations. $490 in session packs on either term.
Freshdesk Price Changes in 2025 and 2026
Freshworks repriced Freshdesk twice in about two months. On 13 November 2025, Freshworks raised the Freddy AI Agent session price from $100 per 1,000 to $49 per 100. Each session now costs $0.49, up from $0.10.
Plan prices rose next, in January 2026. Growth went from $18 to $23 per agent a month ($15 to $19 billed yearly), about 27% on annual billing. Pro rose $7 and Enterprise $12 per agent a month ($6 and $10 billed yearly).
Freshworks' pricing page showed the old prices in late December 2025 and the new ones by mid-January 2026.
Freshworks then made two changes that lowered Freddy AI Agent costs for some teams. By June 2026, one email session covered every AI reply within 72 hours, instead of one session per reply. By August 2026, Freshworks had extended the one-time 500 free sessions to Growth plans.
Freshdesk Price Rise: Plan and AI Session Prices Before and After
| Item | Before, monthly (billed yearly) | After, monthly (billed yearly) | Took effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Growth, per agent | $18 ($15) | $23 ($19) | January 2026 |
| Pro, per agent | $59 ($49) | $66 ($55) | January 2026 |
| Enterprise, per agent | $95 ($79) | $107 ($89) | January 2026 |
| Freddy AI Agent sessions | $100 per 1,000 | $49 per 100 | 13 November 2025 |
| Freddy AI Copilot, per agent | $35 ($29) | $35 ($29) | No change |
For five Pro agents, the license line went from $295 to $330 a month ($245 to $275 billed yearly).

What Pushes a Freshdesk Bill Up After You Sign
After the first invoice, AI volume and channels push a Freshdesk bill up, and two contract rules limit how fast it can fall.
- AI volume. Your first month can cost the least, since the one-time 500 free sessions cover part of the AI volume. After that, you buy more session packs as conversations grow, and unused sessions expire with the billing cycle.
- Channels. Chat and messaging need Omni, and phone on Omni takes the voice add-on plus call charges.
- Contract timing. Freshworks bills upgrades at once, pro rata, while plan downgrades and cancellations take effect at the end of the term.
- License cuts. A smaller agent count lowers the bill only after you delete the extra agents.
Ask Freshworks sales about discounts before you renew. Any discount beyond annual billing can vary with term length and agent count.
Helply Pricing for the Same Freshdesk Teams
Helply charges for the work its AI does, and its entry credit block costs $49 a month ($42 billed yearly) with unlimited users. It's also a complete help desk, with ticketing, a shared inbox, SLAs, live chat, a knowledge base and reporting. Each plan carries the Support, Assist and Background Agents.
Helply's Support Agent works with customers across every channel, email included, to investigate issues, take action and resolve requests. If it can't confidently resolve one, it brings in your team and passes along what it found, with the customer's context.
At MixWave, an audio software company with 1 to 10 people, Helply's Support Agent resolved 58% of incoming questions from start to finish. That let MixWave move one full-time role over to documentation and product quality. MixWave also cut tooling cost sharply against its previous per-seat help desk.
You pick a monthly credit block that covers the AI's work, move up at any time and move down at your next renewal.
A draft or summary that needs only the thread takes 1 credit, and a check across one or two systems takes 4. A deep investigation that ends in a judgment call takes 12. You pay nothing for spam, setup work, retries, failed actions, or any draft a teammate rejects before it goes out.
Blocks run from $49 a month ($42 billed yearly) for 500 credits to $1,549 ($1,317 billed yearly) for 32,000. Above that, Helply quotes volume pricing through sales. Plan on about 4 credits per conversation for short, repetitive support and about 7 for longer, more complex support.
Four lines of a Freshdesk budget change on Helply:
- More people, same price. Your two new hires add $0, and engineers, success managers or founders can work in the inbox without a license or day pass.
- Drafts without a per-agent fee. The Assist Agent comes with every plan, and a draft from the thread alone uses 1 credit. On Freshdesk, Copilot needs Pro or Enterprise and adds $175 a month for five agents ($145 billed yearly).
- Chat at the same rate. Chat on Freshdesk needs Omni, at $12 to $36 more per agent a month ($10 to $30 billed yearly). Helply counts credits the same way whichever channel a conversation arrives on.
- Unused credits roll over. On monthly billing, leftover credits carry one month forward, while Freshdesk session packs expire at the end of the month. On annual billing, both keep unused AI budget for the year.
Freshdesk vs. Helply Monthly Cost by Team Size and AI Volume
| Team | Freshdesk, billed monthly (yearly) | Helply credit block | Helply, billed monthly (yearly) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 agents, AI on 1,000 conversations | $605 ($585) on Growth; $995 ($910) on Pro with Copilot | 4,000 to 7,000 credits | $249 to $399 ($212 to $339) |
| 12 agents, email and chat, AI on 2,000 conversations | $2,540 ($2,276), Omni Pro with Copilot | 11,000 to 15,000 credits | $589 to $769 ($501 to $654) |
| Your two new hires | $202 ($168) on Pro with Copilot | No change | $0 |
Both vendors' figures assume list prices and AI on every conversation, with one Freshdesk session each. Helply's low figure assumes about 4 credits a conversation for short, repetitive support, and its high figure about 7.

Moving From Freshdesk to Helply
Keep Freshdesk running while Helply works a slice of your queue, then move the rest when you like the results. You can bring supported Freshdesk ticket history, knowledge content and customer data into Helply, so customers don't start over.
Freshworks applies cancellations and plan downgrades at the end of the term, so start the side-by-side run before renewal. Cut Freshdesk licenses and session packs as you move each queue over.
Helply vs. Freshdesk compares features and channels and explains how to switch.
Freshdesk or Helply: Which Fits Your Support Budget?
Freshdesk can cost less for one or two agents, on the Free Program or on Growth with little AI work. Three Growth licenses with no paid AI list at $69 a month ($57 billed yearly), above Helply's $49 entry block ($42 billed yearly). Helply fits teams where volume, AI use or the number of people in the inbox keeps growing.
Stay on Freshdesk if:
- You run one or two agents on the Free Program, or on Growth at $23 each a month ($19 billed yearly). You get the 500 free AI sessions only with a paid plan.
- You need few AI conversations, so the one-time 500 sessions and an occasional $49 pack cover them.
- You already pay for other Freshworks products and want one vendor.
Choose Helply if:
- You're hiring, and each Pro agent with Copilot would add $101 a month ($84 billed yearly) on Freshdesk.
- Engineers, success managers or ops staff need to work in the inbox without a license each.
- You want chat, Slack, WhatsApp and email in one inbox with no per-agent price.
- You want Background Agents on every plan to flag churn risk and upgrade intent in conversations.
If neither list fits your team, compare the Freshdesk alternatives side by side.
At list prices, your seven-agent Freshdesk Pro team with Copilot and AI on 1,000 conversations pays $1,197 a month ($1,078 billed yearly). The Freshdesk total includes one Freddy AI Agent session per conversation. On Helply, that queue costs $249 to $399 a month ($212 to $339 billed yearly) at about 4 to 7 credits per conversation.
Your block price is your number for next year, unless you move up a block or raise the monthly cap above it. With auto top-up off, the AI stops at the cap and your team keeps answering tickets. Freddy AI Agent also stops at zero sessions when auto-recharge is off.

Yes. Annual billing cuts plan prices by about 17%, though Freshworks labels it "Save 20%". Other discounts go through sales and can vary with subscription length and agent count.
Cancellations and plan downgrades take effect at the end of your term, with no cancellation fee. Upgrades apply right away, with a pro-rata charge for the rest of the cycle. You can still add or remove agents mid-cycle, and Freshworks prorates the change.
Freshdesk charges per agent, with Copilot and extra Freddy AI Agent sessions on top. Helply prices AI work in credit blocks with unlimited users. Helply's blocks run $49 to $1,549 a month ($42 to $1,317 billed yearly).
